At first I was quite astonished and devastaded by the news that I would have to leave my ward to operate in a Covid-19 ward. I admit that having to deal with my own fear of the virus and that of my colleagues has been very challenging. I haven’t always been able to reassure my collaborators, but now that we have finally managed to find some sort of balance in this new situation, I know that I would have never made it through these difficult weeks without the help and support of the nurses, doctors and ward personnel I have had the pleasure to work with. Being part of such a hard-working group is a blessing. I can say we are and will be much more humane, as we are getting to know each other in a different light. I am proud to be a head nurse, now more than ever.
